Whiskey River Bridge-a fun drive on a pretty day

The Whiskey River Bridge is part of Interstate 10 out of Baton Rouge on the way to Lafayette. It seems to go on forever across Henderson Swamp, you can see old railroad tracks running through the swamp and lots and lots of old tree stumps. The road is a2 lane bridge not that high above the water line and ever so often there is a cut across to the other bridge going in the other direction but they are blocked by Jersey Walls. Lots of 18 wheelers occupy the right lane, and if you want to get off you must stay in the right lane or you'll never get over in time to hit the exit. The swamp is beautiful, full of trees and stumps and the water is just breathtaking. TBC-----
